About the Vintner

Meet the Vintner, Clay “Clayco” Skelton

Skelton Family Vineyards is the combination of a life-long love of great wine and a beautiful location at the top of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County.

Clay’s father, the late Bob Skelton, started Clay’s wine journey in 2009, buying him 50 Dupratt 101-14 and St. George Zinfandel vines.  On a fateful ride upon Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise, Clay accepted a challenge to make wine.

Three years later, the first 13 cases of Skelton Family Vineyards Zinfandel were ready!

Clay flourished under the mentorship of Frank Pastori (pictured left with Clay), a Sonoma County vintner since 1947.

Clay thanks his family and friends (Bob, Meg, Kelley, Hayley, Frank, and Susie) for their on-going support in this endeavor – and their willingness to sample all the wines, anytime. Cheers!
